Academic Calendar Spring 2010 (Semester One) The curriculum is designed to provide the essentials of the courses you would have taken at McIntire during this semester, so you will not fall behind your classmates who do not study abroad. The skills you develop and the experiences you have in this program will surely be a very valuable part of your total UVA educational experience. HKUST course offerings are extensive, and all Commerce students will find a good selection of courses that interest them. During the term abroad, students must complete four or five HKUST offerings, for at least 12-15 UVA semester hours. In addition to those courses, Commerce students must also complete the UVA-taught Global Strategy and Value Enhancement course, which will result in three transfer credits for Comm 3040 being awarded by certificate directly from McIntire. Each student must complete at least two business courses from the pre-approved list. Those two courses will satisfy your Comm 3050 and 3060 requirements. Additional courses will satisfy appropriate Commerce School or University electives. Finance and Marketing concentrators will be offered a special section of the required Comm 3720 and/or Comm 3330 in the fall of their fourth year. NOTE: UVA accepts transfer credit (not grades) for courses taken abroad; however, students must receive a grade of C or better for each course to transfer credit back to UVA. |
