Eligibility All entries must be from current UVA students who have participated and returned from study abroad programs and/or internships in Fall semester 2008 or January term 2009.
Submission Requirements
1. You must have taken the photos or, if you are in the picture, the pictures must have been taken with your camera. 2. The photos can be from any country outside the U.S. 3. The photos must be submitted digitally (800 dpi or better) AND as a hard copy (size 4" X 6", 5" X 7, or 8" X 10). Hard copies should not be framed or matted. 4. An entry form must be submitted with each photo. 5. Maximum number of entries per person: 2 Include a Photo Contest Entry Form with Each Photo including: 1. Your full name 2. Email address 3. Location and term/year of your study abroad program 4. Category for which your photo is being submitted (see below) 5. Location of the picture 6. Title and a brief description of the picture You can enter two photos, choosing from the following categories: 1. Portraits: local people, animals 2. Landscape: architecture, natural beauty 3. Black and White: any theme 4. Anything goes!: no theme limitations--use your imagination! Entries will be judged based on composition and originality. UVA students preparing to depart for study abroad programs will be able to cast one vote for each category at Pre-Departure Orientation. Selection There will be one winner per category. Each participant is eligible for only one award. The winners will be displayed in the Study Abroad Library, at upcoming Study Abroad events, and around grounds. Deadline for Submission 4 p.m. on October 23, 2009
Please submit all photos with the entry form in an envelope (one envelope per student) to the Study Abroad Library (216 Minor Hall). A digital copy of each photo must also be sent to studyabroad@virginia.edu by the deadline.
